Ahhhh...Disneyland Paris! We promised Shane that we would take him here to celebrate his fourth birthday. Unfortunately, we didn't make it on the actual day due to a rainy conditions. Even though we went on a Tuesday thinking it couldn't compete with a crowded Disneyland on Christmas Day SoCal-style, but we were wrong...oh so wrong. It was super crowded so we didn't get to go on too many rides but Shane had a great time. Being on line there was the complete opposite of being at the Happiest Place on Earth here: Europeans don't know the meaning of the word queue, they would just cut and they have no sense of personal space; the smoking...do I need to say anything else?; and every young girl seemed to be beating the sh&*@ out of someone in line. (Although the worst fist fight was between three young brothers -- under the age of 10 -- at LAX waiting at the Munich luggage carousel -- future Hooligans prey tell.) Although, I do have one positive observation, there were hardly any obese or overweight Euro kids at Disney or anywhere in Paris for that matter. I don't know how they do it with all the bread, cheese and chocolate. We went to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch and it was just another notch in the belt that made us appreciate our own Disneyland. The burgers were small and pitiful but the wine floweth plentiful. As in the U.S., Jason and I know how to make our own fun. Disneyland Paris has its own California Adventure although it is a watered down version. After lunch we went there in hopes that we could escape some of the throngs of people but we weren't so lucky. The best part of that venture was Jason on the "Back lot Tram Ride." Please view the attached video for the hysterics. We stayed late and ate "American" hot dogs for dinner before taking the train back to Paris. Bonne Nuit!
